After a quiet winter, things are buzzing at Jam Mission. The days are getting longer, the trees are budding, and our animals are as energetic as ever. Here's a quick update on what's been happening and what we have planned for the spring season.
New Arrivals
We welcomed two new baby goats this month — both healthy and already causing trouble. They're still getting used to visitors, but in a few weeks they'll be ready for the petting zoo. If you've never seen a baby goat bounce around on its first week of legs, you're missing out on one of life's greatest joys.
Egg Season Is in Full Swing
Our hens are laying like champions now that the days are longer. We've been getting a solid dozen a day from our flock, and the eggs are as rich and flavorful as ever. If you'd like to reserve a batch, head over to our Goats & Eggs page or reach out through the contact form.
Trail Improvements
We've been working on clearing and marking new trails around the property for our nature tours. There's a beautiful loop through the wooded area behind the main pasture that we're really excited about — it passes through some old-growth trees and opens up to a great overlook. Should be ready for guided walks by mid-April.
Upcoming Workshops
We're planning a composting workshop for early April, along with a weekend permaculture camp in May. These will be hands-on sessions where you actually get dirt under your fingernails. Keep an eye on our booking page for dates and registration.
Spring is our favorite time of year on the farm, and we'd love to share it with you. Whether you're here for a day visit, a weekend campout, or just to pick up some eggs, you're always welcome at Jam Mission.
